The voice of notre dame football

SOUTH BEND — Notre Dame football will have a new radio play-by-play voice in 2024.

Tony Simeone, who has handled play-by-play of Irish men’s basketball for the past three seasons, will replace Paul Burmeister as the primary voice on the Notre Dame Radio Network.

Simeone becomes just the fourth person to hold that role since 1980.

Former Irish and Denver Broncos offensive lineman Ryan Harris returns for his seventh season as radio analyst with Johnny Soper, a 2019 Notre Dame graduate, taking over for Simeone as the pregame and postgame radio host.

Burmeister, Notre Dame’s radio voice the past six seasons, will take on expanded play-by-play duties for NBC Sports’ college football coverage.

A former Iowa starting quarterback, Burmeister’s first TV game with former NFL quarterback Colt McCoy as analyst will be Colorado at Nebraska on Sept. 7.
